What it does

Any post type

Write to posts, pages or a custom post type, mapping answers onto the title, the content, its taxonomies and its meta.

Published or pending

Choose the status new posts arrive in. Anything from the public deserves a review queue rather than the front page.

Attributed properly

A submission from a signed-in member is authored by them, so a directory listing or a community post belongs to the person who wrote it.

Getting it working

  1. 01

    Add the delivery

Add Submission To Post to your form and choose the post type.

  2. 02

    Map the post

Decide which answers become the title and content, and which fill taxonomies and meta.

  3. 03

    Set the status

Pick published, pending or draft, and who the author should be.

Every setting

What you can configure, and where it lives. Site settings apply everywhere; the rest are set on the form itself.

Questions

Can visitors upload a featured image?

Yes. Map an upload field to the featured image and the file is added to the media library with the post.

Is this safe to open to the public?

Set the status to pending and pair it with Akismet or Turnstile. Content from strangers should be reviewed before it is published.

Does the entry still exist afterwards?

Yes. The post is created in addition to the entry, not instead of it.

Can someone edit their post later?

That depends on the role you give them. The delivery sets the author; WordPress decides what an author may then do.
