What it does

Country as a condition

With MaxMind connected, the visitor’s country becomes a value forms and popups can both read, so a regional offer can appear only where it applies.

Signed in, and as what

Target by role, so members see the member message and everyone else sees the sign-up.

First visit or fifth

Match on referrer, landing page and how often someone has been before, without keeping a profile of who they are.

Getting it working

  1. 01

    Choose what to target

Open a popup’s display rules, or a form field’s conditions.

  2. 02

    Add a visitor condition

Pick from role, country, referrer or visit count.

  3. 03

    Set what changes

Decide what appears when the condition matches, and what appears when it does not.

Every setting

What you can configure, and where it lives. Site settings apply everywhere; the rest are set on the form itself.

Setting Scope Notes
Role Condition Signed out, or any WordPress role.
Country Condition Needs MaxMind connected.
Referrer Condition Where the visit came from.
Visit count Condition First time, or returning.

Questions

Does this track individual visitors?

No. Conditions are evaluated from the current request and a short-lived cookie for visit counting. No profile is built and nothing is shared.

Do I need MaxMind?

Only for country conditions. Role, referrer and visit count work on their own.

How does it behave with page caching?

Targeted regions are resolved after the cached page is served, so a cached page can still show the right message.

Is this A/B testing?

No. This shows a chosen audience a chosen thing. A/B testing splits one audience at random, and it is a separate tool.
