What it does

Country available to your rules

The resolved country becomes a value Conditional Logic and User Targeting can both read, so geography can steer a form or a popup.

Risk scoring on submissions

Use minFraud scores to hold or reject submissions from addresses with a history, before they reach a payment or a mailing list.

Cached lookups

Repeat visits from the same address reuse the stored answer, which keeps both the page fast and your MaxMind usage down.

Getting it working

  1. 01

    Add your MaxMind credentials

Paste your account ID and licence key into the xpac settings screen.

  2. 02

    Choose what to look up

Enable country resolution, risk scoring, or both.

  3. 03

    Use it in a rule

Reference the country in a Conditional Logic condition or a User Targeting rule.

What you can configure, and where it lives. Site settings apply everywhere; the rest are set on the form itself.

Questions

Does this store visitors’ IP addresses?

The lookup result is cached against a hash of the address, not the address itself, and the cache expires. What is kept is the country, not the person.

Which MaxMind product do I need?

GeoIP2 Precision for country lookups, minFraud for risk scores. One account covers both.

What happens behind a CDN?

The originating address is read from the forwarding headers your CDN sets, so results stay correct behind Cloudflare and similar proxies.

Is a lookup made on every page view?

No. Only when a rule needs the country, and the answer is cached afterwards.
